Avondale Almanac

In 2024, for our 10th anniversary, we published our first ever Avondale Gardening Alliance Almanac; now we do it every year! A hyper-local almanac in the style of the Old Farmer’s, the AGA Almanac offers a calendar of AGA and partner events; week-by-week gardening chores; awe-inspiring facts about our urban ecology; horoscopes and meditations; and spotlights on community partners.

Each year, we choose a theme to explore throughout the almanac, like soil or roots. By weaving in science with practical tips for garden management, we aim to build the confidence of Avondale gardeners and our shared understanding of our urban ecosystem.
